Relationship corner

I see a lot of people get into different relationship with different people in a short tone and then people start saying she probably can't keep a man or he can't stick to one woman. From what I have seen and experiences, I notice some people can't really stay alone for a short while. They dread the single life, they always want to have someone to talk  aside the family or friends. While some people actually do this for the sexual part especially those who don't keep multiple partners. Which is why most of these type of relationships don't last because it wasn't based on love at the first instance but on the fear of been single. These type of people are mostly people who got jilted from a long term relationship, people with rough childhood or people who just can't bear to be alone. while some actually do it for social Media the " I gotta a new man gotta flaunt him to my ex thingy". The other new partners are mostly at the losing end as they are often the ones been switched, some of them often think they are the problem and end up getting confused thinking where did they go wrong .
All in people are different,we all handle our personal life differently, so before getting into a relationship its really advisable to check if your partner has unsolved past relationship issues or issues in general..it really helps in building the future.

In the spirit of sallah..here's a jollof rice recipe for amateur chefs like me lol

So most likely sallah would fall on Friday 15th of June which is tomorrow, and as Nigerians rice is mainly our meal for every event or festival...Lol so here's my own Nigerian jollof rice recipe and the step to step procedure:
Ingredients
1)  4cups of rice (depending on the amount of people you're cooking for).
2) Pepper and tomatoes (I use atarodo for mine).
3) Beef or chicken
4) Carrots,green peas,sweet corns.
5) Sausage and liver.(optional).
6) Vegetable or groundnut oil
7) 2 bulbs of onions( depends on you thou cause I love onions).
8) Maggi,salt and other seasoning (nutmeg, curry, thyme,etc.. Sometimes I use this grounded hausa seasoning the ones they use for suya).
9) Garlic and ginger ( I use the already packaged paste most times).
10) Tomato paste ( to give it that very red colour).

Preparation
Parboil the rice (Just to remove excess starch).
After washing the meat or chicken and season it with the above seasoning, put on fire.
When done preserve the chicken or meat stock.
Fry your chicken or beef.
Dice your liver, sausage carrot into small sizes.
Blend your pepper and tomatoes(leave extra tomatoes for later).
Put oil on fire, put in your diced sausage, liver, sweet corn, green peas, onions and stir.
Pour in the blended pepper, tomato paste ,salt, maggi, garlic, ginger, your other seasonings and stir.
Pour in your meat stock and the parboiled rice and stir from down upwards..( its advisable to use a ladle).
For the remaining onion and tomatoes sliced it in small rings and place it over the rice (optional)
Let it simmer for like 15-20 minutes ( checking it occasionally thou to see if it needs water..
And that's just my own process of making jollof riceπŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€,you could serve it with plantain or coleslaw or eat it alone.

Some quotes to reflect on as you start your day.

Meet the CEO of Glamdrop makeovers

CEO glam_drop makeovers

Meet the Mrs Bola Ayegbusi, the magic fingers behind Glam_drop makeovers, one of the most talented and popular makeup artist in Ilorin kwara state. Her work is well known both in Kwara state and Nigeria as a whole. I was drawn to her amazing skills and talent so I had to speak to the woman behind the amazing makeovers. She was really outspoken, open and really lovely during the course of the interview.

The makeup industry has become a popular job for a lot of Nigerian entrepreneurs worldwide, can you please tell us how it started with you?

Well I started 2013/2014 after I got married, been a graduate of Bsc anatomy I tried finding a job for about two years and I didn't get any.so I decided to turn my passion into a moneymaking business. I have always loved making up, even while I was in school I was always the student that would paint her face to class even if I had lectures as early as 7. It was really something I enjoyed doing, so I decided to turn it into a moneymaking business.
Any challenges faced when you first started?

Ofcourse, definitely, is there anything without challenges. When I first started back then,I had nowhere to train in ilorn. I didn't see anyone good enough to train me back then in Ilorin, since what I was looking for wasn't in Ilorin I had to travel out of Ilorin to look for a training place. Also when I came back it was hard finding clients that were willing to pay. Most people wanted free make up. Everyone was like "foju mi practice"(practice with my face) which is still a challenge we are facing today.some people don't just see the makeup business as a job.

How long have you been a makeup artist?

Ehmmm....say four years now...

With the number of rising upcoming makeup artists do you at anytime feel threatened that it might reduce clients?

No..Not at all, I believe the sky is big enough for everyone. We all have our customers, cause Nigeria is a big country and there are different classes of people. There are people who can't afford much but still wanna get there makeup done. So basically its just about setting standards. I feel there's a market for everyone, there's no threat anywhere.

Have you ever had complains from any client about you makeup job when you first started ?

Of course.. Even till now..you can't please everybody. You'll definitely have people who will still complain no matter how perfect the makeup is..most of these people are  people with low self esteem. Cause I do my job to the best of my ability and then you still find people complaining. I just let you no this is not me..this is you having a low self-esteem,I have tried my best, I try to calm them down, I try to tell them you look beautiful, you look great.

Most makeup artist do more of lightskinned makeup than dark skinned makeup,is it that they Dont have dark skinned product?

Well I would say the amount of dark skinned makeups I have done for clients are really little compared to lightskinned. Apparently most people are light skinned these days..that's just the truth, its not as if we don't do for darkskinned we just don't see them. 99% of our clients are light skinned. But we do for all skin types or complexions .

Do you feel social media played a huge role in your makeup career

Yes of course, social media has been amazing for my business, infact I don't see any other way. Cause if instagram should close today I don't see any other way cause most of our clients come from social media platforms, especially people outside Ilorin cause I travel outside Ilorin a lot for makeup jobs. So social media brings my work to a lot of people outside Ilorin.

How do you deal with clients with bad skin type or problem like a terrible acne outbreak

In most cases especially in the case of a bride whom I met before the D-day, we encourage her to go to the spa and do a lot of skincare treatments cause at the end of the day a good makeup depends on the skin type. We are not magicians,if you have terrible skin there's nothing we can do. In case of spots its very easy to cover but for pimple its still gonna pick out no matter the makeup. So we encourage clients that their skin is very important. If your skin is good your makeup will be flawless.

Throwback to the question asked by OAP GbemmiO where she asked that " As a makeup artist you were been called for a #20k wedding guest makeup and before leaving you find out she's the bride what would you do,would you add more money to your professional fees",plus what really is the difference between a bridal makeup and a wedding guest makeup?

Well since I have done a #20k makeup that shouldn't be a problem for me personally. If you call me and say I should do a wedding guest makeup for you that's exactly what I would do. The major difference between a bridal and a wedding guest makeup is the staying power. For bridals we use  stronger, higher and more expensive products so that when the bride dances it holds through the sweat and everything. For a wedding guest makeup we use cheaper products, drugstore products..drugstore products are products you can find in the pharmacy..cause they pay differently.. So there is a huge difference.. If you're calling me for a causal make up you are getting a casual makeup..I won't collect more money cause I have done a casual makeup.

What if she tags you as the makeup artist for her wedding?

I would nicely and respectfully deny..I would explain to everyone she has a wedddng guest makeup on and that was what she ordered for.

Do you give training classes to people who are ready to learn and what are the procedures

Yes we do training classes, those interested contact us then we send in our training quotations and also the terms and conditions

What advice do you have for upcoming makeup artists

We are all upcoming, thing is just keep doing your thing, never stop. It gets tiring thou but just keep pushing. That's the advice I give my students. Its never easy for anyone..its just God.. Without God theres nothing.

Kenyan actress, Jacqueline Nyamide, popularly known as Wilbroda, has been left in shock after discovering that her househelp breastfed her son when he was eight months-old.

Speaking to a Kenyan Parent Magazine, Wibroda said that the incident became known after she got an anonymous tip while on a trip to Mombasa.

When my son, Xolani, was around 8 months old, I had to travel to Mombasa on a work assignment and so I left him under the care of a nanny whom I had trusted so much. While in Mombasa, I received an anonymous call from a person who informed me that my househelp breast fed my son whenever he cried,”
“I took the first flight back to Nairobi. I had to verify the information from my neighbours and in the process, I was informed that my nanny not only breastfeeds my son but was also living with HIV.”
“I didn’t sleep that night and had to rush to the hospital around midnight to have my son tested.
“Fortunately, he was fine. To cut the long story short I fired the nanny the following day. It took immense self-control to restrain myself from harming her,” she said.
